The Harpley project involves the conversion and remodelling of an existing three storey Victorian school building, together with the provision of a new Sports Hall. The design proposal is to place the new build sports facility on the site of the existing Victorian Building's playground. Initially this will result in a reduction of external space but the landscaping of the currently unmade ground to the southern part of the site re-provides this lost area. There is also further provision of sports facilities in the addition of a new fitness suite within the existing building. The works on the existing building involve extensive remodelling and structural alterations, the largest of which is the introduction of a three storey light well and media hall which will enhance internal access, improve visual connectivity and act as a new heart of the school.
